Catch It While You Can

Calling all Minneapolis-area theater lovers: if you haven’t snapped up tickets to see Catch Me If You Can the musical yet, there’s still time. If it sounds familiar, it should – the musical is based on the Steven Spielberg movie (based on the autobiographical book) about the life of Frank Abagnale, Jr., world-reknown con artist played by former teenage heartthrob Leo DiCaprio in the movie adaptation (but he’ll always be Jack to us).

Here’s the official description from the Hennepin Theatre Trust:

“Based on the hit DreamWorks film and the incredible true story that inspired it, Catch Me If You Can is the high-flying, splashy new Broadway musical that tells the story of Frank W. Abagnale, Jr., a teenager who runs away from home in search of the glamorous life. With nothing more than his boyish charm, a big imagination and millions of dollars in forged checks, Frank successfully poses as a pilot, a doctor and a lawyer – living the high life and winning the girl of his dreams. But when Frank’s lies catch the attention of FBI agent Carl Hanratty, Carl chases Frank to the end…and finds something he never expected.”

The show opens tomorrow, December 11 at the Orpheum Theatre and runs through Sunday, December 16th. This is Catch Me If You Can’s first national tour and debut in Minneapolis, and we’ve been lucky enough to be invited to opening night to blog about the show (more to come soon) and we couldn’t be more excited. Not only will we get to see what is sure to be a fabulous performance, we’ll also get to hear Frank Abagnale, Jr. speak firsthand about his experience during an audience Q&A session following the show (only on opening night).

Sounds exciting, doesn’t it? Tickets are still available, including for tomorrow’s opening night performance – to learn more or to buy tickets visit .
